This April, Heather and I are taking off (Lord willing) to Chicago for the 2011 Gospel Coalition conference. The conference title is: "They Testify About Me: Preaching Jesus and the Gospel from the Old Testament." We're flying out on the Monday to settle in, check out the city, etc., and flying back on Friday evening. I'm looking forward to the conference for a number of reasons:
- The focus of the conference is basically on applying Biblical Theology to preaching. Bring it on.
- My wife and I don't get to go to things like this. Ever. This will be the first time since Maggie was born.
- Two words: cheap books
- I'll get to meet and ask questions of a number of my heroes.
- Every time I listen to these guys, I feel like God has spanked me with the Bible. It's a good feeling.
- Heather and I have never flown anywhere together.
